It is not a requirement to have classroom experience before submitting an application. However, we do recommend candidates gain some school experience to help decide that teaching is the right career path for you. If you would like some help organising this please do get in touch.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
In order to protect children and young people and to check your suitability to teach you will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) barred list and criminal records check. If you have spent time abroad, we will also undertake an Overseas Criminal Record Check. We will arrange these once you have been offered a place on a programme.
Fitness to Teach
You will be required to complete a health questionnaire and satisfy Fitness to Teach requirements.
