If you are an unqualified or Overseas Trained Teacher who needs to gain QTS, the Assessment Only Route might be for you. The start date is flexible and you can apply for this route at any point throughout the year.

To be eligible, you must have taught as an unqualified teacher for at least 2 years, in two consecutive key stages in two schools. You should be consistently meeting the Teachers’ Standards and making an impact on pupils’ learning and progress.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor degree (or equivalent)

• GCSEs grade 4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) if you’re a secondary teacher

• GCSEs grade 4 or above in Maths, English and Science (or equivalent) if you’re an Early Years or Primary teacher
